"Will
you stop JOKING? Maybe you can find a better time!"
We can't deny:
with this third issue, UN MONDO PERFETTO (A perfect world),
Pkteam as Gianfranco Cordara and Claudio
Sciarrone had his hard workin' time to give readers a sligthly better thing
compared to the previous two ugly issues. The results are fair, though somehow
criticizable.
Before reviewing this story, an official communication is
required. As this issue was out, we were flooded by people writing us that the main story
looked literally copied by a Silverware's famous fan fiction,
Futuro Imperfetto
(Future Tense). Actually that looks right, the two plots are very look-alike and being Cordara an usual customer of this community the suspect seemed
legitimate. Seeking for an explaination, PKERS wrote directly to him. He declared himself
really surprised, stating that he had never read Futuro Imperfetto; he said
he took inspiration from another source, Gibson's "Continuum of Gernsback",
and even that he had the idea back in the times of PKNA, but he wrote down the script only
today. Well, maybe you don't expect that but we do believe him... some because we know
which fan fictions Cordara has read or not, some 'cause this
kind of idea is quite a classical plot in literature and cinema. So we trust in the
author's intentions ("In Cordara we trust" ;P), even though some shadows on
Pkteam's originality are no news...
Set this right, let's go on. Who's a member of Pkeri knows that about this issue
I posted a very long spoiler examining each point deeply, so I'll try to be more brief.
The basic idea is not bad, but during the scripting stage Cordara
spread around a number of mismatches, abiguities and even bad errors that eroded the
solidity of his own plot. For example, it's not clear if Paperbuck's built dimension was
it either real or virtual, because if it was real in the final fight Pk would have killed
all the citizens of Paperopolis, instead if it was virtual it couldn't try to merge with
Pk's own reality. Then Paperbuck is taken back to Duckburg because if left there that
would cause a dimensional disaster, but the Pikar that is native of Pk's dimension too is
peacefully left on the other universe (and about that, changing her shape was a real
homicide!!!). Characters like Rupert and Tempest appear, people that Paperbuck should not
know personally and so shoulnd't be able to replicate in his private reality... and why if
it's a perfect world he can replasm with a mere thought there are the Imperfect rebels?
Moreover O.N.E. has become really unbearable to listen, now Pk even calls him
"boss"... and Pk himself is no more the smart character he was, he wanders all
the time around speaking stupid jokes on which only Spider-Man would waste his time ("I
have to make humor because it's on my contract!"). Then put over all this Angus
Fangus crying tears for mankind's freedom and the chaos is perfect! At least, Pk and Lyla
seem to be getting very close toghether, maybe even they are going to... flirt?
Let's wait and see, it's interesting!
Sciarrone's drawings are as good as usual, though a
bit less outstanding than in PK2, but the artist paybacks giving us a never-so-sexy
Lyla... now she goes into adventure dressing short and tight dresses, and in a couple of
vignettes Pk saves her from a good upskirt. Very intriguing :)_
There's also a nice small story by Ambrosio and Ziche, taking us back to the old times of Angus Tales, but
unfortunately without the same good cinism. Cover? We like... Lyla (^^), but Sciarrone made some mess with the details. For the rest it's all
the same stuff.
So, good try, various troubles with the making, but it's a START.

| OK: this time we REALLY had you waiting. We're very
sorry, but between saying and doing there are the holidays and big family problems of the
webmaster. But, at last, the first so-wished-for update is here! Nicoḷ Assirelli is back, as great as
usual. There are six new drawings
of his (and twice are in queue). The disco-duckgirls series goes on with a new Korinna
sketch and also the definitive version, a very sexy duck to welcome you in the most trendy
night club of Duckburg: the "PKERS"... definitely forbidden to the
"elementars smart children"! Then,
another nice portrait of Juniper that, after Lyla, whises us a good birthday. The gallery
keeps on with a drawing dedicated to the first issue of the new series (too much of
effort...) and with a new parody: PK AKIRA! That's it, even Katsuhiro
Otomo's masterwork could not save itself from being portraited in a PK-like
version. Would it be appropriate to make a gallery full of all these "fusions"
we made?
More
updates are quite everywhere. Unfortunately there is only one new drawing by Rita Micozzi, because the artist is working very hard on the
e-comics "The taste of the night" (by the way, pencils are almost done).
Netherless you'll find a new couple strip of ours in Silver
& Rita adventures, at this time we kinda have... ginecological troubles?!
Yet six new fanarts, some very very artistic-looking, in Gallery #3, all by Stian Thomassen, Francesca Teso and Mariangela Bonavita.
Other single pics in Flavio Naspetti #1 and Matteo Vattani #2.
Coming soon a new flood of drawings, also coloured, and the beginning of PK
Fantasy (many of them are about it)!

"I
met a BOY!"
Witch #18 - FRAGMENTS OF SUMMER (but what is it,
the sequel of Fragments of Autumn? ;)
doesn't seem to have been much appreciated by the community: but I disagree. Personally I
think it's a nice issue, in the average level of the series, maybe not quite that shining
but with an interesting direction. Giulia Conti made a good
script, making the story faster with an agile direction, and was well understood by Paolo Campinoti, who, even if never was a star, looks really
improved from his previous works (by the way, Marina Baggio
and Roberta Zanotta are inkers any penciler would like to
team-up with). Strangely, it seems that in various points of this issue the direction is
much inspired to Evangelion, just see the mythical frame with the street lamp on page 57, à
la "Hideaki Anno", or the long travel shot of interiors on page 29. And,
indeed, also Hay Lin's new boyfriend looks much like Shinji Ikari! Who knows... (Zaaankokou
na witch no theeseee...)
Anyway in some passages the script is not so accurate, like upon Caleb's escape,
and Campinoti may have his hard times with distant shots.
In this issue do happen various important things: Nerissa rejuvenates
herself and gets ready to burn Kandrakar down, Luba seems to sacrifice to save Caleb (man,
this guy always has to be saved by someone!!!), while Will is disillused by Matt because
of a misunderstanding and Cornelia is disillused by herself for abandoning Caleb, because
of a spell that erased the Witches' memory. It really looks the good guys do nothing but
cry upon theirselves, while the bad guys are left to do their worst!
This issue has actually only ONE scandalous thing: the advertising of PK at page
6, with Lyla being defined as a "Newbie Witch"... unbelievable, and then
they ask why there are some pkers hating Witch! If a character that was glorious before
Witch was projected is treated like that, no wonder people gets offended!
Well, another one is gone.
